My technological woes....

Thanks to Reachout for being so patient with me. I was 'employed' to do some research on modern technology and the available tools for mental health issues. Well I believe I failed. I got a bit confused with who accepted me as 'friends' on facebook...I searched for the appropriate people, the next thing, they're inviting me to their 'alternative' parties somewhere across the world. This isn't what I expected. BUT, then again, I am not so computer minded. So, please don't accept this as a disadvantage to modern technology-it's not, it's just me.

As a Counsellor, I do prefer face to face but I am not going to restrict myself to this. I will continue to investigate what's out there and what's best for all involved.

In the coming weeks, I wish, with the approval of Reachout, to focus on particular issues, mental health disorders, case studies, and I will report on this....It provides a bit more of a focus for me!! I hope you can join the ride with me, and see what eventuates.

Forgotten Australian, Headspace, these are only a couple of organisations I have come across which deal with mental health issues. I have a great article which I have yet to read, but once I have, I look forward to posting any relevant information.

Visit me on http://twitter.com/youthmentalhlth and follow those interested in youth mental health issues.

Look out for further blogs with details of my findings.

Mental Health and Youth

Why is it that mental health is not as acceptable (in my eyes anyway) as it should be?

Life, the different stages of it - childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and all that in between, beforehand and afterward - what's it all about?

More importantly, why is it so different and so difficult in its own different, difficult way!

You know, life really isn't black or white. There are so many shades of grey....and blue....and silver.....and orange... I could go on and on....

Each week I will be reviewing, revising, investigating, studying, why young people struggle through the most fun, important time of their life... I would love some feedback, your stories, your views.

I will post on this blog all my findings, my experiences and see if this can be of any help.

I would also hope that mental health care professionals can follow this and add any comments so together we can help those in need.

Lets start up our own ivestigations into how, when, where and why. Keep posted!!
